Having recently seen our new website go online, Amos Pictures contacted us and said they wanted something similar for their own site to showcase what they are about and what they do.
Having had several discussions with Amos we pitched them the idea of going with a one page website which would be fully responsive across all devices and platforms. We recommended this approach simply because they didn't have the content to justify several different pages.
They wanted a website which was eye catching, stand out but also very clean and user friendly.
Website design awards and nominations
Our one page website for Amos Pictures was featured on One Page Mania and also Bestcss. Design awards and nominations are provided to websites that demonstrate high levels of creativity, originality and overall design competence.
Making documentaries for TV and web it was obvious the stand out component for Amos Pictures was going to be how we present their video content.
After discussing several ideas and options we both settled on a responsive video carousel which would allow swiping on smart phones. We decided to create space around the videos with a transparent parallax background, nothing too heavy so that the video stands out. This is also achieved with a white border to bring the video into focus for the user.
We have also discussed future options and possible solutions for when more video content is added over time, this is something we will look at implementing later down the line.
A beautiful responsive mobile experience
One main requirement was to make sure the website was fully responsive across different devices and platforms to give users the same desktop experience on a smart phone or tablet.
Device testing was extremely important when building the website, we needed to test break points to see how the website adapts on different smart phones and tablets.
We now have a great working relationship with Amos Pictures. They have expressed how pleased they are with the outcome of the website and feel it is exactly what they wanted.
With them keen to get the website live as quick as possible they have mentioned that website additions in the near future are very likely and we expect to be in constant contact with them over the next few months as we put together the final touches.
Nice one pager for a company who makes documentaries... I like the use of screenshots from their work as the background. they also have good information about who they are and what they specialize in.
